Basically, you need to know if you can avail of a free specialized service, or if you need to go for a more expensive and time-consuming conventional approach. Here are some of the questions we most often discuss with folks:
- If I make a hail damage insurance claim, will it affect my insurance rates?
No. A hail damage claim is covered under the ‘Comprehensive’ coverage section of your car insurance. Hail damage falls under the ‘Act of God’ category and therefore the car owner is blameless and claims repair costs are paid for by your insurer under Comprehensive cover. If you don’t have Comprehensive cover in your policy, there may be out of pocket expenses, read about our claim expertise here (links to Deductible piece).
- What if Colorado Hail Claims estimate is higher than the Insurance Company estimate?
If an adjuster makes a lower estimate than us, we ask them to come and reinspect and review our assessment. If an additional amount, known as a ‘Supplement’ remains, your Insurer is liable to pay.
- How much will dent removal on my vehicle cost?
With us, usually it costs you nothing as it’s covered under your insurance policy, won’t affect your deductible and we cover your car rental expenses. If you don’t carry insurance that covers hail damage, then use our Free Assessment Form to ascertain the costs.
Statistics show an average repair cost across the States is $305.55; $202.28 for parts and $103.27 for labour. But the type of dent, and the severity of the damage determines how much the repair job costs. We have repaired a general type of ding or dent for as low as $50! If your damage is small, then you are in luck. But we’ve also seen hail damage that resulted in the car being written off because the cost of repairing it would be higher than replacing.
- What IS Paintless Dent Repair?
This is a non-invasive method used by qualified technicians that removes all dents using specialized tools and lights that does not impact the car’s factory finish. PDR techs repair a broad range of damage to both steel and aluminum body panels that can cost 1/3 less than traditional methods. PDR is the preferred method, and the Insurance industry standard, for fixing shallow large or small dents where there are no signs of cracks in the paint job. PDR requires extensive training, visual acuity and tactile perception that does not use new parts, panel beating, fillers, bondo, chemicals or new paint. We have restored vehicles damage by hailstorms, parking accidents, gravel, stones and road debris damage, bumps on doors, fender benders, minor hits, bodylines dings of all shapes and sizes.
- Do I need my Insurance Company to tell me which repair shop to use?
No, Insurers no longer steer their clients to one provider or another. We recommend you go with the team you feel comfortable with and you’ve done a little due diligence on. Lots of new customers have shopped around and come back to us because they like our transparent attitude and helpful Free Assessment. (Get yours by filling out the form herelinks)
Some Insurers we have dealt with directed the claimant to its preferred shop for the inspection/assessment. However, once the individual got their approved estimate, they were free to come to us to do the work.
- Why can’t I use my regular auto-body shop mechanic for PDR?
Experienced staff at reputable shops are the only guys to trust with PDR which is an innovative process developed at Mercedes Benz in Germany decades ago. Specialized training, apprenticeship and experience are needed to ensure PDR works for you.
- Is conventional body repair work better? Or are there more benefits to going with PDR?
The best way to retain your vehicle’s value is to maintain the original factory paint job and finish. PDR’s principal benefit is that it never disturbs the factory finish nor compromises the durability of the vehicle’s panels. Significant time and cost savings are the other main benefits. Contrast weeks at a traditional body shop where they are replacing, waiting on parts and using heavy bonding, fillers, beating and repainting work, to hours or days with us.
Then there’s the fact that conventionally repaired dent damage can leave sanding or scratch marks or a high or a low spot on the car’s body. With PDR once we repair a dent, that damage will never come back or show up again.
- How do I know Paintless Dent Repair is right for my vehicle though?
Damages affecting only the external appearance of your car are easily fixed with our non-invasive PDR techniques. From tiny dings to large dents, we highly recommend you use our Free Assessment form to take advantage of this affordable solution for aesthetic damage.
If you can see substantial damage to the structural integrity of your car, we can advise you of options and additional repair needs to return it to its former glory. If you have scrapes on the paint job or anything that has compromised the paint finish, then a repaint is necessary and PDR is not the chosen method. If you’d like our general guidelines for when our PDR service is not a viable repair solution, such as replacement of plastic spoilers or with severely cracked paint, give us a call on 305 550 3318.

Standard insurance practice places ‘prior damage restriction’ on your vehicle. If any previous damage goes unfixed, then when it comes time to deal with something bigger, your claim could be denied. Every dent, regardless of how shallow can lead to compromising your factory finish. Getting it fixed fast the way to keep factory paint safe and protected. A quick PDR fix keeps costs low and maintains it’s value.
